Last details before we #ShutDownSCOTUS

On Monday, June 13 we are going to shut down business as usual at the Supreme Court! Here are your final details on training, legal support, and where to show up on Monday!

SUNDAY TRAININGS AND FINAL SPOKES COUNCIL!

Location: United Methodist Church, 32 Grant Circle NW, Petworth, DC. Come all day or for as much as you can! RSVP here.

Agenda

9:30: coffee

10-1:30: comprehensive direct action training

1:30-2:30: break/lunch (we’ll order pizza or something similar)

2:30-3:30: legal briefing (repeat of the briefing held on 6/6). We will stream this on Zoom for those who can’t attend in person, register here.

3:30-4:30: Affinity Group meetups

5-7 or later: in-person spokes council (where we will finalize decisions for Monday; make sure your AG’s spoke attends!)

JAIL SUPPORT

If there’s any chance you might be arrested on Monday, FILL OUT THIS JAIL SUPPORT FORM! This way we will be able to track you through the system. Affinity Groups should each have a jail support liaison who can meet arrested folks in their AG when they are released. That person will coordinate with our Legal Trainer.

#SHUTDOWNSCOTUS ON MONDAY – WHERE TO SHOW UP AND WHAT TO BRING

For folks in affinity groups, meet at Stanton Park (closest to 4th St. NE & C St. NE) at 7am at the latest (shoot for 6:45).

If you’re not already in an affinity group, that’s ok! You can just show up. Meet at Stanton Park at 6:45am for a mini-action prep, or at 7am at the latest.

Monday will be hot. Make sure to bring water (we will have extra), sunscreen, and anything else you need for several hours (if you’re planning to stay that long). Some useful Q&As here.

Please plan to wear a mask on Sunday and Monday. To keep your comrades safe, consider taking a COVID test before attending, and stay home if you have any symptoms.

Let’s shut it down!!
